As usual, I was the Bunny for the Cross Country running races for the East part of TDSB.... some of my favorite days of the year are having fun with the kids. This year I was approached by a mother who also works at Global News and who wanted me to contact Susan Hay for a piece they run called Making A Difference. So I got to spend the day with Susan and her Support Crew, who totally flattered me by being impressed with what I do for the XC Kids... which is really just having fun and encouraging them.
The result of this day of Interviews, Videos and Following me is a short piece that aired last week on Global News.... you can see the article and video HERE.
It's nice to be recognized for what you do, when you do it because you love it...

Who needs technology??
We are enjoying a beautiful fall this year - great colours and lots of time outside in the warm weather. As the kids settle into the Back to School Routines, Sue and I are busy packing the house and trying to reduce the amount of "stuff" that we are going to move to the New House. We are also coming close to our first Family Trip to Costa Rica.... and are quite excited about seeing a new country!!!

Stopped on the way back from the Cottage to enjoy the fall colours...

The Boys collected the leaves from the Entire Neighbourhood to make a huge pile in our front yard.... the neighbours thought it was great - I quickly ran out of Leaf Bags!!

Throwing caution to the wind ... Luke leaps off the Cable Box into the leaf pile...

Jake "The Leaf Beast" emerges from hiding to attack unsuspecting dog walkers...
Always a good time... and funny to hear that some neighbours that we have hardly spoken to say that they will miss watching the Boys and their "antics" on the street....

What have we Done???
We have created a Family Living Space that is filled with boxes, bins and ugliness. Our Home has returned to being just a House...
But we are eagerly awaiting our chance to create a new Home in December!!!

A Cool Cottage...
The Family (including grandma and poppa) got the chance to spend a great weekend at the cottage before closing it down for the winter. The weather was Rainy and Sunny so it made for some interesting and almost Big Fish Catching trips. Then last day there (as always) was beautiful and warm so we braved the cool water and finished the year off with goose bumps and smiles.
Thanks for a great year Cottage!!!

Got any boxes for us?
So with all this extra time on our hands ... We were getting a bit bored. What's a good way to fill in your days...? Buy a new house and move!!!! Closed the deal on a beautiful new house that has everything that we wanted in a house on Labour Day... Then it was time to finish preparing our house for selling. It took longer than expected and with more drama than required but it sold none the less. We get the new place at the start of December and are very excited!!! Stay posted for updates and more pics!!!

Lost in the Woods
The Boys spent a beautiful couple days backcountry camping in Algonquin park at the end of the summer... And it's turning out to be somewhat of a tradition. After a relatively quick (but VERY muggy) hike in, we found ourselves on the shore of Maple Leaf Lake. Set up the tent and site and has a rainy sleep before hiking towards Maggie Lake on the 2nd day. Didn't quite make it there since our Thunder Box Stop turned into a double soaker / fishing / lunch / collecting leeches stop so that shoes could dry. Hikes home so we could enjoy the great Jumping Rock and the water. Made our way back to the Jumping Rock to check out the stars. Too bad Jake walked off the side of the Never Ending Bridge and bruised himself. Great couple days in the Great outdoors. Didn't catch any fish this year ... And who knew that dehydrated food could taste so good!!!
